Inspirational Women of the Month

Bella Wright '19, Staff Writer

Every student and staff member at Marymount is so inspiring – from the passion they hold for learning or teaching to the kindness each person possesses and the love that they hold for one another. To highlight and commemorate each Sailor’s individual light and joy they thoughtfully share not only within our community, but beyond our gates as well, an inspiring teacher or student will be chosen and featured in every edition of the Anchor.

For our local Woman of the Month, this gorgeous lady was chosen because of her motivating nature, joy, and kindness: *drum roll*

Mrs. Bayle’s bright smile and fervid energy are a constant presence at Marymount. If you haven’t had her yet, just you wait–you’ll never want to leave. Thanks, Mrs. Bayle for all your hard work at Marymount to help each student thrive! We’re all so grateful for you!

Not only will local women be featured in this article series, but so will women who inspire others on a global scale.

This month, the world-wide inspirational woman is Michelle Obama.

As many of you know she is the 44th first lady of the United States. During her term as First Lady she has worked tirelessly, fighting to alleviate poverty and expand health and education. Mrs. Obama has started a fitness program called the “Let’s Move Initiative” in order to get kids moving and eating healthy. She has supported the organic-food movement and helped plant hundreds of fruits and vegetables in communities with little access to fresh produce. She has stressed the importance of volunteer work and education and continuously volunteers herself at homeless shelters and soup kitchens around America. Overall, Mrs. Obama has used her term as First Lady in order to complete good works and make a positive impact, especially in children’s lives. She is actively trying to help this nation and is truly an inspiration to all of us to get moving and start helping other people.
