As seniors are rushing their way through their couple of weeks left of high school, many of them will soon be departing home to begin a fresh chapter of their life. Many of Marymount seniors will attend college, here in the heart of Los Angeles, while others will leave to other cities to pursue their dreams. In their short amount of time left in Los Angeles, I have listed the top five places for seniors to go to before leaving LA.

  1. Everyone knows that Los Angeles is famous for their trendy desserts! This place is perfect for the ice-cream lovers… Blockheads Shavery Los Angeles, located on Sawtelle Blvd. With a diverse selection of flavors and toppings, seniors will be able to savor the creamy shaved ice.
  2. LA’s most renowned flea-market… The Melrose Trading Post! From virage t-shirts to old Levi’s denim, seniors can fill up closets! (I mean, LA has the trendiest clothes). The trading post opens every Sunday from 9AM-5PM and after their visit, seniors can walk around the streets of Melrose Ave. and stop by numerous cafes, like Alfred’s Tea Room and Urth Caffe.
  3. With numerous selections of vinyl records, Amoeba Music located in Hollywood is the place to go for the music lovers! In addition, they sometimes have performances so make sure to check the calendar and attend one of the events.
  4. Who doesn’t love art museums? Make sure to stop by Hausser Wirth & Schimmel, located in Downtown’s art district, and visit the new Jason Rhoades Installations. Only a block away, grab lunch at Wurstkunche, known for their exotic hot dogs like the rattlesnake hot dog!
  5. Lastly, the Skyspace in Downtown Los Angeles has made a comeback! With nearly 1000 feet above the city, this is the best place for Instagram pictures; it’s almost as cool as the Empire State Building in New York City. Don’t forget to ride the unique glass slide for a 360 degree view of the city!

We will miss you Seniors!
