We are walking in a winter wonderland during the most wonderful time of the year. At Marymount, this joyful, candy-cane-and-gingerbread-coma inducing season not only brings hope of Christmas break, but also the expectation of Marymount’s annual Winter Festival!

The spectacular Winter Concert, to be held on December 16th at 7:00 pm, will include performances by the Marymount Choir, Dance I class, CAP Dance Ensemble, Acting I class, Orchestra, and Marymount’s a cappella group the High C’s. The Choir and High C’s will present some Christmas classics, such as “I Saw Three Ships” and “Jingle Bells,” but the Choir’s renditions of “Hodie Alleluia,” “Doraji,” and “Out of the Morning” will provide intriguing new tunes to the medley.

The Dance I class and CAP Dance Ensemble will undoubtedly impress with pieces such as “O Come, O Come Emanuel,” “What a Wonderful World,” “Let it Snow,” “Soul Cake,” and the ever-festive “Bollywood.” The Acting I class will make their debut with a performance entitled “Dr. Phil’s Christmas Show,” ensured to leave the audience chuckling. Marymount’s orchestra will present music from the “Downton Abbey” score, Brandenburg, and the Meditation from Thaïs, which will include a solo from senior Kelli Staake.

Some of the most exciting pieces of the night, including “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Twas the Night Before Christmas,” and “Winter Wonderland,” are the collaborations between several, if not all, of the performing arts disciplines. In addition to the performing arts elements of the evening, there will also be a humbug-free reception and the annual Visual Arts demonstration from 6:00 to 9:00 in the library showcasing drawings, paintings, sculptures, photographs, digital design, and ceramics from the Visual Art 1, Visual Art 2, Advanced Visual Art 1, Photography A, Photography B, Ceramics & 3D Design 1, and AP Studio Art: 2D Design classes.

Remember to support your sailor sisters and increase the holly-jolliness of your Christmas season by coming to the Winter Arts Festival on December 16th at 7:00!
