Marymount Water Polo

This year’s Marymount Water Polo team is coming into season with new players and a new head coach, Coach Jay. Senior Tori Lowell, a player on the varsity team states, “He is an amazing coach and he knows how to explain what to do and how to do it.”  Sophomore Kyla Kariger on the JV team said, “This is my first year and Coach Jay taught me everything I know.”

Coach Jay was able to bring in a good amount of people to create two teams: a JV and a Varsity team. He is teaching the team new skills to improve the squad’s techniques and knowledge of the game. Sophomore Elizabeth Sullivan of JV said, “We all work well together as a team. We are all learning new things together and helping each other out whether it be in or out of the pool.”

On Monday, November 25, 2013, Marymount had their first in season scrimmage; both teams played to the best of their ability. Varsity lost 8-3 and JV lost 4-3, but both teams still hold great potential and put in a tremendous effort! Coach Jay stated during a team meeting, “We have good speed but we also have a lot to work on.”

Make sure to come support the Marymount water polo team during the season and wish them luck in up coming matches!
