From October 25th to November 2nd, the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians played in the 112th World Series game in Major League Baseball. Although the Cubs had previously been in the World Series 11 times, this championship was particularly special for their franchise because they had not won the World Series since 1908 due to the highly speculated curse upon them.

The Cubs and Indians went neck-to-neck in the final game with extra innings and a 17-minute rain delay, which had never happened before in history during Game 7. The Cubs came back from a 3 games to 1 deficit against the Indians who had the second longest World Series title drought behind the Cubs (The Indians’ last time winning was in 1948).

Even though the Indians, the American League champions, had the home-field advantage against the Cubs, the National League champions, the Cubs managed to win their first championship in 108 years!
