Ways to Stay Warm in Uniform

It’s that time of year again in Los Angeles, when we all act as if the subtle temperature drop starting mid-November is actually an incredibly drastic change of season. However, there comes a time when the cold and cloudy weather really does have an affect on you. If you have been freezing lately during the school days, or even just the mornings, I encourage you to scan these tips to feel cozy while still staying in dress code!

  1. Scarves: Accessorize your uniform by adding a cute scarf! They’ll spice up your normal uniform while keeping you warm. Circle scarves are a favorite around campus, and Brandy Melville has some pretty ones.

  2. Sweaters: There are a variety of nice Marymount uniform sweaters that will keep you warm. You can order from Land’s End or look for others in the Sailor Surplus Store. To keep extra warm on dress uniform days, wear a sweater under your blazer or for other days wear a warm Marymount colored vest over your sweater.

  3. Leggings, Tights, and Socks: For days when a skirt is just not warm enough, feel free to wear black or navy leggings under your skirt. You can also opt for black, white, grey, or navy simple tights to remain cozy. Knee high socks are very trendy this season and will keep you warm, too!

  4. Long Sleeves: Marymount has navy and white long sleeve uniform polo shirts available to purchase at Land’s End or the Sailor Surplus Store. Many students pair these polos with vests to keep warm or to wear for dress uniform under blazers. You can also sport a regular navy or white long sleeve shirt under the corresponding color Marymount polo shirt to stay cozier.

  5. Raincoats and Rainboots: This season, you can look forward to the rainy days, even if you aren’t fond of the weather, because of the options you have to wear with your uniform. You can wear rainboots and raincoats to school on the rare occasion when there is even the slightest precipitation in the air. Look around for adorable boots and raincoats to accessorize your uniform when you shop this Christmas season.
