CAP Spotlight: Marymount Choir

This week’s CAP spotlight centers on Marymount’s pitch perfect Conservatory Arts Program choir! So far, their impressive performances have showcased the many hours students have dedicated to rehearsals under the direction of the new faculty member, Dr. Koh, who joins the Marymount family with a doctorate in Choral Conducting from Yale University. This year’s CAP choir brings together a diverse group of more than 30 students from all grade levels involved in everything from the arts to athletics to robotics. The choir began its work right away, rehearsing for their debut performance at the Mass of the Holy Spirit, the first Mass of the year, which kicked off the school’s 90th anniversary celebrations.  Recent highlights in their repertoire include the stirring gospel number “The Storm is Passing Over,” the Hebrew psalm “Al Shlosha,” and favorites including “Seasons of Love” from the Broadway musical “Rent” and Avril Lavigne’s “Keep Holding On,” which was the choir’s first performance at Community. Marymount can expect to see much more of the CAP choir this year as they prepare to take the stage during this year’s Winter Concert on December 11th.  At this show, they will perform alongside the rest of the CAP community, showcasing Marymount’s various artistic talents and adding to the winter festivities. We encourage you to come enjoy this performance as it is filled with CAP Choir’s multi-harmony Christmas tunes that will surely ring in the holidays!
