Although the thrill of going to a concert hasn’t been something we have been able to experience for over a year, many musicians have been entertaining us with virtual performances, new singles, EPs, and full albums, too. With old and new indie picks, here are some great musicians to listen to while the school year comes to an end and fades into summer!

Native Texan, Sloan Struble, better known as Dayglow, released his first album under the name, “Fuzzybrain,” in 2018. His music has a very upbeat, groovy sound and he plays a mix between indie and alternative pop. Here are three awesome songs by Dayglow:

  • Nicknames (2018)
  • Something (2021)
  • Balcony (2021)

They’ve been pumping out music since 1998, and they are just so cool. Here are some great tunes from their newest album, The New Abnormal, which celebrates the bodacious sounds of the 80s:

  • The Adults Are Talking (2020)
  • Eternal Summer (2020)
  • Bad Decisions (2020)

  • Bed Head (2021)

Based in San Francisco, Sjowgren is an indie pop trio that has released twelve singles and EPs. While they are still a small band, they’ve been writing music since 2015 … and it’s pronounced “show-grin,” if you were wondering. Check out these songs:

  • Seventeen (2016)
  • Now & Then (2017)
  • Human Condition (2021)
