Days Gone with the Nguyen: Teacher Profile

6:00 AM – WAKE UP. “I was always late to my first class in high school”

  • GET READY.
  • “NO TIME TO EAT – EAT ON THE GO.”

7:00 AM – GET IN THE CAR.

7:10 AM – STARBUCKS – “I always order on the app before I get there”

  • BAGEL AND COFFEE
  • “Starbucks takes too much of my money”

7:30 AM – GET TO SCHOOL

  • “I prep until I teach”

DURING THE SCHOOL DAY: teaches Freshmen and Sophomores.

  • “I teach odd periods 1 and 3”
  • “I teach even periods 2, 6, 8”
  • “My free periods are 4, 7, 5. 4 is the only period where I can get work done because it is dead silent.”
  • LUNCH: always with the theology department. “We talk about politics and religion – A LOT OF FUN. WE HAVE GOOD CONVERSATIONS.”
  • “P9 is usually full of makeups, prepping for exams, meeting”

4:30-10:00 PM – CLASSES ON MONDAYS – “I take Educational Research, Quantitative Research in Education, (“I thought I was gonna fail, but I’m actually quite good,”) Transformational Leadership for Student Achievement.” Dinner is in between.

4:15-5:30 PM – MOST DAYS OTHER THAN MONDAY – “I run for 45 mins – 1 hour”

  • POST-RUN DANCE PARTY – lip singing and dancing to music

5:45 PM: “Get like a smoothie – either from Kreation (if long run,) or (if whatever run) the ‘vroom bar’ from whole foods- what is that called? Oh, a blender.”

6-7ish: MAKE DINNER “If I am in the mood.”

  • “If not, I’ll grubhub – less expensive than postmates”

8ish PM: HOMEWORK FOR HER SCHOOL.

10:30 PM: GO TO BED.
