Spring is coming into view, which means that spring cleaning is here too! Though this is an excellent opportunity to get tidy, this task can also get a little overwhelming because there is just so much to clean. So, here are a few tips and tricks to help you have your best spring cleaning yet!

  • Make a plan.

    • In order to ensure you don’t bite off more than you can chew, set up days when you plan to clean different areas of your house. Instead of trying to clean up everything in one day, maybe set up one day for cleaning your room and another for cleaning your kitchen. Make sure you write down these dates in your planner or calendar.
  • Divide each area that needs cleaning into smaller tasks.

    • Instead of just saying you need to clean your room, break that task down into even smaller ones, such as vacuuming your floor or wiping down your desk. Doing this ensures that you get everything done.
  • Group the clutter.

    • When clearing things out, you’ll notice that there’s lots of stuff you didn’t know you ever had before. Hence, it’s important to group all the items you find so that you know exactly what to do with them. Try having “trash,” “give away,” “store,” and “put away” piles to help you clean!

  • Get other members of your household to join you.

    • Cleaning with the help of a sibling or parent by your side can really speed up the process. Also, it’s a great opportunity to bond with that family member! By recruiting someone to help you on your cleaning journey, you are guaranteed to have a less daunting spring cleaning.

  • Make the time less tedious with music or a movie!

    • In order to make the time go by faster, there are a couple of things you can do. First, you could make a playlist for your session, or you could watch your favorite show in the background. Either way, cleaning will be a lot more fun with something to keep you entertained.
