Water Polo: Farewell to the Seniors

Brianna Blais, Tori Lowell, Nina Regenstreif, Elle Gannon, Katie Ortize, Caitlin Garcia, and Gabi Richards: the seniors. “They are sweet, funny, smart, welcoming, and huge motivators,” said Surya Vohra. Even just by walking onto the pool deck, it was evident that the seniors led the team through the season and helped new participants. Karolina Garcia-Totzauerova added to the conversation by expanding on the roles of the seniors, “They know how to make me crack up every practice, and I love how Katie says that she hates me but I know she loves me secretly. All of the seniors in general know how to make practice fun, and I don’t know what I’m going to do without them next year. Brianna was always there for anyone. Tori was always happy and herself. Nina was always making everyone laugh and smile. Elle was always really laid back. Katie was always making jokes, and Caitlin was always cheering for everyone. Gabi was always making you laugh and try harder then before.”

The seniors were the heart of the team and will be greatly missed; both the JV and varsity team have grown immensely since the beginning of season. Although the team struggled through the start of the season, with a lot of hard work and effort, the team finished with a great season. JV won two games and improved in their technique towards the end of season, ending their season with a new goalie and a stronger team. The varsity team had grown together as a team and learned many tricks to pull on opposing team members; all in all, water polo dominated the water this year!
