Golasooo!!! That will be the most popular word around the world as we watch our favorite teams compete in the 20th FIFA World Cup, held in Brazil this summer from June 12 to July 13. The 2014 World Cup is the first time that the tournament will be held in South America since 1978. With Spain as the defending champion, it will be interesting to see which teams can work their way up to the top. Some popular teams that qualified this year consist of Argentina, Spain, England, France, Germany, Italy, and, of course, the United States. Whether you’re going to the games, able to smell the freshly cut grass and view the anticipation from the stands, or you prefer to watch these nail-biting games on your television, make sure you don’t miss out: this extremely fun and nerve-racking tournament only occurs once every four years. Soccer is a sport that is widely known in every country. Be sure to connect with people around the world as you watch the tournament. Also, look out for some of the world’s best players at the tournament, like Lionel Messi, Christiano Ronaldo, and a United States’ all-time favorite, Landon Donovan. Overall, this exciting tournament will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time, so grab some friends and enjoy one of the most popular sports events in the world.
