How to Get Around This Summer When You Still Can’t Drive
May 21, 2018
Summer is the perfect time to hang out with friends and do fun things! Not having a driver’s license can be a pain when you want to do something far away from home. Despite not having your license, you can still have an amazing summer! Here are five ways to get around this summer if you cannot drive yourself!
Bike
- Biking to meet your friends is always enjoyable and can even give you a great workout! This form of transportation may not be as useful for extremely far distances, but biking gets you outside with the fresh air!
Uber/Lyft with friends
- Ubering/Lyfting can be a very effective way to get around. As long as your parents approve, these services can bring you to and from your destination very safely. By sharing rides with friends, you can also save money and chat with your friends in the car.
Have friends with licenses drive you
- If your friends have their license and plan on meeting you at a certain place, ask if they can give you a ride! It will be fun to listen to music with them. Plus, your parents won’t have to take you.
Carpooling
- You can set up a carpool with a group of friends and ask one of your parents to take you. This will ensure that you will have fun in the car with your friends, and your parents won’t have to constantly transport you places.
Bird
- Bird is an app you can download and use to rent electric scooters. These scooters connect to your app, which will guide you through navigation methods and payment options. You can scooter around to meet friends and save money since Bird is a very affordable choice.
Even though you may not have your driver’s license, do not let that stop you from having the best summer! Hopefully, you will get inspired by these five alternate forms of transportation when you cannot drive yourself.
