On February 19th, seven students from Crespi Carmelite High School visited Marymount for a special lunchtime performance. The boys displayed their prowess at Taiko drumming, a Japanese art form used for celebrations, war, and festivals. While the Sailors relaxed on Senior Lawn, the Crespi boys entertained with a thrilling thirty-minute performance, wowing the audience with dramatic beats and physically demanding combinations. Senior Ali Udell found the concert “culturally enlightening” and hopes that they will return in the near future. As interactions between Marymount and Crespi seem to be rare, the Sailors are optimistic that the two schools can continue to interact and share their musical talents.
