This album shows a fantastic range of what this great band is capable of doing.

The first song, “Geronimo” is the most well-known song by this band and is continuously played on the radio. The upbeat and fun tempo of the melody gives it a great sound and vibe, meanwhile the positive mood of the song is enticing. Even though no one really knows what or who “Geronimo” is, one cannot help but want to sing along and dance.

The second song, “Something’s Missing” is a soothing song that will captivate anyone’s heart. Although the tune starts off slowly, the tempo speeds up. This song makes a listener want to clap along. The perfect setting for this song would be a drive along the ocean with the car windows rolled down; it is a let loose and fun to jam out to song.

The third song, “Let Me Down Easy” has an interesting combination of characteristics. While the song has a happy beat, the lyrics express a sad situation: having to let go of love. The vocals in this melody perform with amazing harmonies and the instrumentals work together pristinely.

The fourth song, “These People”, has some of the best vocal harmonization in the whole album. The song has a nice relaxing flow and it’s positive sound and message could lift anyone’s mood. The hopeful lyrics speak about self confidence and empowerment.

The fifth song “A Grade Playa” has the closest sound to pop music on the album. The tempo is upbeat yet slows down at different points of the song. The lead vocals for this song are soothing and sound incredible alongside the smooth instrumentals. The band’s lyrics explore the topic of a girl not letting a boy control her emotions. While the message may seem cliché, the lyrics make it unique.

The sixth song “Smile” gives off a Hawaiian feel; it’s message is all about being happy and enjoying life. The beat is gentle and natural sounding and no autotune is used. This song is one of a kind. The way the instruments are played in unison with the vocals, one cannot help but relax to this song.

The seventh song, “The Best is Yet to Come” is very soothing song. The lyrics and the tempo put together make the song easy on the ears. This is one of the slower songs on the album; perfect for a hard day or stressful occasions. The positive message of getting through those tough times is expressed perfectly through the lyrics.

The eight song, “This Electric Feeling” has a jazzy tone to it. There are no other melodies like this one on the album. The vocals are strong but they don’t overpower the instruments which lends it a colorful, jazzy feeling.

The ninth song, “Find Someone” has a bit of a Jazz sound to the verses and the chorus is more pop. The song is catchy and the tempo is upbeat, although it changes during the verses when it’s slower. This tune makes you want to dance around with your friends. . . using jazz hands of course.

The tenth song, “Lingering” is a relatable melody about a person who feels alone and is waiting for his soul mate. The gentle tempo is relaxing and soothing and perfect to listen to on a long car ride.

The eleventh song, “Halfway to Hell” has a very similar sound to Carrie Underwood with a sassy, country flare that makes you want to get up a party. The mood of the song is angry yet the beat of the song seems happy. The lyrics are interesting and entice you to listen. Though it has the sound of a country song, it still has that dance around the house vibe.

The last song on the album, “Flying Away,” has a great tempo and uplifting message. The mood varies between solemn verses and a chorus filled with hope. The message of the song is all about letting bad experiences go and moving forward with your life. The harmonies during the choruses are strong and sound incredible.

Overall, this album is fantastic! The songs from Sheppard simultaneously give off a relaxing and fun vibe. The stories told in their lyrics are relatable and positive making the album even stronger. This is a band to watch, they have an abundant amount of talent and a bright future. I totally recommend buying this album and rocking out to it with your friends!
