Sara Sussman, Staff Writer

Does the scent of freshly printed newspaper make you think of cartoons or crosswords? Although most people nowadays look at newspapers online, there is something special about holding that ink-staining Sunday morning paper. Forget the news and skip to the back where they hide all the fun stuff; comics and crosswords.

Both cartoons and crosswords make for a laidback enjoyable activity, no matter what you’ll have a good time and always be engaged. Not to mention, it will be a great break from our active lives on our phones. But, let’s be honest, we all have preferences. Which would you pick? Cartoons are hilarious and will bring a grin to your face while you’re munching on your morning cereal or favorite snack. Smiling and laughing are proven to put you in a good mood for a productive day. Crosswords, on the other hand, will get those brain juices flowing and leave you feeling accomplished for the day. Crosswords improve focus and are known to strengthen your memory. Both crosswords and cartoons will only trick you into having a superb time.

As busy high schoolers, we need breaks and these are a couple of ways to pause our busy lives and relax our brains. Either choice won’t steer you wrong.  The only question is, which will you choose?
