In 500 years, who will be the next Picasso? What artwork will millions of people travel to see? Who will go down in history as one of the greatest artists of all time? In my opinion, this artist’s unique style definitely has potential for all these categories.

30-year-old Moroccan self-taught artist, Touils, is known for his positive and vibrant paintings. Toulis is an extremely inspiring artist who took his challenging childhood, grew from it, and transformed his past into art. At the young age of six, Toulis was forced to miss school to work and bring money into the household.
He moved to Lille, France, at the age of 18, leaving everything he had known behind. However, Toulis took his bad experiences and turned it into something positive. His past had made him tough, resilient, and brave; shaping him and his art today. As a way to express/understand his emotions and inner world, Toulis began painting. For Toulis, art was a form of escapism. His early works welcome viewers into the paintings by showing universal themes of love, peace, and the desire to travel.

Touils’s style is heavily inspired by Monet, Van Gogh, and Gauguin. All of them were artists of French Impressionism. To make his unique style, Toulis uses acrylic, spray, and oil paint to build layers of vivid color. His intuitive brush strokes create a sense of joy and peace. His art greatly reflects Monet’s almost blurry style, Van Gogh’s small brush lines, and Gaugauin’s vibrant colors.
