Paddington in Peru is a captivating new film detailing the third adventure of Paddington and his adopted family from London. The film came out on November 8 of 2024, but it will be available for free on Netflix starting May 15th, 2025. I highly recommend giving the movie a watch as a heartwarming, fun, and relaxing getaway after all the stresses of the past semester at school. The movie received a 93% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, so there is a strong consensus that this movie will be a hit with you, your friends, and family.
The beginning of the movie is once again set in the heart of London, with Paddington still living with the Brown family. A letter then arrives from the Home for Retired Bears in Peru saying that Paddington’s much-loved Aunt Lucy went missing.

Paddington gathered all the Brown family and immediately flew to Peru to help find Aunt Lucy. In Peru, Paddington and the Browns meet an interesting cast of characters played by Olivia Coleman, Antonio Banderas and others. Soon thereafter, it seems clear that Aunt Lucy may have trekked into the jungle to find the lost city of gold, El Dorado. As Paddington and his family make their own path for El Dorado and Aunt Lucy, there are so many endearing and funny moments and hurdles that they must overcome. I don’t want to spoil your enjoyment by giving away any additional plot details, but this movie will keep you guessing and laughing right through the end of their journey through the Amazon.

While Paddington in Peru did not have the incredible emotional impact of Paddington 2 (which had a near perfect Rotten Tomatoes score of 99% fresh), the little brown bear with his red floppy hat continues to entertain and ensure that we continue to fall in love with him and his family over and over again. So, grab a bowl of popcorn and some friends and help Paddington find El Dorado and his lost aunt. I promise, along the way, you will laugh, cry and grin ear to ear. And just maybe, you will want some marmalade and toast.
Paddington in Peru is rated PG. It has a running time of one hour and forty-six minutes. The film is directed by Dougal Wilson, and was brilliantly brought to life by story writers Paul King, Simon Farnaby, and Mark Burton.
