During this 2013 volleyball season, all three teams — Freshman, JV, and Varsity — were victorious in league play; each team earned the title of Sunshine League Champions. The freshman team had a great showing for their first season as Sailors. They finished second in the North Tournament and first in the Third Degree Tournament. The JV squad had a strong performance in the North Tournament and placed second in the Third Degree Tournament. Varsity went 8-0 in league and crushed the Marlborough Mustangs in their packed home gym on Halloween night. Despite the small amount of seniors on the team and large amount of players in their first year at varsity level, the team went on to be one of the top sixteen teams in CIF playoffs. The team had a very strong connection and a great team spirit, which helped Varsity win throughout league and tournament play. Now, with the ending season, Marymount already looks ahead to next year! With the strong foundation the team has already built, next year’s team is bound to have a great season!
