Basketball is a fan favorite sport at Marymount, as many students get excited to watch both the JV and Varsity teams play throughout their season. However, Marymount basketball gets even more interesting when the teachers decide to join the game. The Varsity basketball team and faculty competed in an intense basketball game in Pavilion this year.

The Varsity team began by warming up in front of the student audience on the bleachers and started the game in the lead. However, the teachers were not willing to give up and they continued to fight against the Varsity team.

The teachers’ past high school experiences on basketball teams allowed them to lead their team to victory by two points. Another one of the biggest highlights of the game was Mr. Skrentny’s halftime dance!

Freshman, Talia Kikuchi, played during the game and said, “It was a fun experience to rival our teachers and see them in a new way. The teachers played so well, and it was impressive seeing Mr. Clarke play, as he starred in this last game before he left for Australia. I would definitely do this next year!”

Overall, the game was a huge success and had a big turnout of enthusiastic students and teachers!
