Isabeau Levito is just 16 years old, but she is the 2023 U.S. National Champion of Figure Skating. She started skating when she was just three years old and quickly rose the ranks to be the best in the country. In March 2023, she won her first U.S. National Championship. She is looking forward to trying to repeat as national champion again in a few months and participating in her first Olympics in 2026. She is quite the inspiration for all skaters and non-skaters too.
Levito was born on March 3, 2007, and has been ice skating since the age of three. She was born in Philadelphia and now lives in New Jersey. Her mother had always loved the sport of figure skating and was one of the reasons she started skating as well as hoping to improve her daughter’s balance. Her coach is named Yulia Kuznetsova and has been teaching Isabeau since 2010 when she started.
In 2018, Isabeau competed at her first U.S. Figure Skating Championships at the Juvenile level winning first place. In 2019, she won 2nd place in the Intermediate level. In 2020, she won the Junior silver medal and in 2021 she won the Junior National title.
In 2022, Isabeau was invited to make her senior Grand Prix debut and finished second in both of her sections. She was then able to go to the 2022-2023 Grand Prix Final and she was the youngest to qualify since 2007. She then competed in the 2023 World Championships and achieved her new personal best.
This coming March, Iabeau will attempt to defend her US National Championship. The ice skating world expects that Isabeau will make her Olympics debut in 2026 where she will likely be performing in Milan, Italy.
It is quite remarkable that such a young athlete can develop the skills, strength, and poise to compete internationally in such a demanding and artistic sport. She serves as an excellent example of what you can achieve with hard work and perseverance.
