What is Saie?

Have you ever thought about the ingredients that are in your everyday makeup? Saie definitely has. Laney Crowell founded a clean, environmentally friendly makeup company aimed to “feel good and do good.” As a clean beauty brand, Saie creates all of its products without any harmful ingredients like parabens, sulfates, and talc. Personally, being on Accutane with sensitized and irritable skin, it is important for me to have clean beauty products without pore-clogging ingredients. Along with this, making Saie even more environmentally friendly, the whole brand is completely eco-conscious with certifications from Climate Neutral, Plastic Negative, and 1% for the Planet. When I received my package, I was surprised to find a bag of cotton balls to protect the products. The website says to “keep and use them to remove makeup.” This is just one of the ways that Saie makes its products multi-purposeful and reusable, stepping closer to helping our environment in a cute and usable way.

1. Glowy Super Gel

This product embodies everything I have ever wanted. Not to be dramatic, but Saie is a genius. The Glowy Super Gel is everything you would want in the first step of your makeup routine. With two shades, Starglow, a pink champagne glow for lighter skin tones, and Sunglow, a bronzy glow for those who want to look like a tanned summer goddess. I have both shades and find them perfect for winter and summer. I like to use this step before makeup, or even mixed in with my foundation/skin tint. Saie also suggests using the gel on the décolletage to look even more luminous and fresh. My favorite part of this product is the lightweight feel of it, I barely notice it’s there when wearing it. It makes my whole makeup routine look natural and more like real skin. I am so excited to start using Sunglow in the summer months as I find it hard to get my face to the same shade as the rest of my body. Out of everything I will be reviewing, this product is universal for anyone and is a must-have in your makeup bag!

2. Hydrabeam Concealer

A newly discovered favorite for me is Saie’s Hydrabeam concealer. I can’t rave enough about the formula of this product. I have never been so obsessed with a specific concealer, as I usually just use anything I can find or that I’ve seen on Tik Tok. This concealer is, by far, the best one I have ever used. It’s the most hydrating, creamy, lightweight formula with ideal coverage and a dewy finish. It doesn’t easily crease or cling to dry patches either! While being a breathtaking concealer, this product doubles as skincare with ingredients like Squalane, Glycerin, Cucumber, and Tomato extract to provide short and long-term brightening effects. Saie’s website provides research from a study saying that 91% of women ages 18-45 said that Hydrabeam “brightened and illuminated the eye area over time.” If you are looking for a moisturizing, glowy look, I would definitely point you toward Saie’s Hydrabeam concealer.

3. Sun Melt

Sun Melt is your next go-to cream bronzer, with new shades recently dropped, everyone is able to feel the incredible effects of this bronzy glow. With amazing ingredients like Colloidal Oatmeal (my favorite for soothing eczema or dry patched skin) and Grapeseed Oil, this balm-like consistency provides a seamless, buildable color to imitate the “on vacation,” sunkissed look. I can imagine myself using Sun Melt along with the Glowy Super Gel during the warmer months when I don’t feel like wearing a lot of makeup but want to even out my skin tone. I am able to easily blend out this bronzer with my hands or makeup sponge but would love to try out Saie’s Big Brush to achieve an even more blended look.

4. Dew Blush

To continue with the “on vacation” vibe, this Dew Blush claims to provide a flushed, sunburnt look with buildable coverage. Along with every Saie product, this blush melts into the skin to add to the “your skin but better,” fresh, healthy look. The shade range consists of six colors, “Peachy,” “Rosy,” “Poppy,” “Dreamy,” “Chilly,” and “Spicy.” I have only tried Spicy, a burnt terracotta, which I love for the winter months, but I am so excited to pick up “Rosy” (a pinky peach) or “Poppy” (a corally- orange) for summer! This blush isn’t easily sweated off, it maintains its color for a while with only one swipe on the cheeks. With no streaks, imperfections, or patchiness, this blush is perfect for everyday wear or can be intensified for a nighttime look.

5. Mascara 101

Saie’s clean Mascara 101 offers length and separation while being Cruelty-Free and Gluten-Free! With their singular Black shade, this mascara is universal for all types of lashes. Whether it be a no-makeup makeup day or a night out, this formula is buildable without being clumpy. Because I have tried so many mascaras, it’s rare that one stands out. The one thing that I find unique about this mascara in specific is the wand. I have always felt that the wand is the most important part; I have found that the wand can make or break a mascara, and my focus is mostly never on the actual formula of the mascara. All to say, this wand has bristles at the tip, making it easy to get into difficult corners, and separates the bottom lashes beautifully. Along with this, the application is just as user-friendly as the removal process at the end of the day. This mascara doesn’t stick on the lashes and glides off smoothly. The conditioning and strengthening ingredients like shea butter and Arginine Amino Acid leave the lashes feeling nourished and intact. This mascara definitely stuck out to me, and I urge you to give it a try if you’re into a wispy, long-lashed look!

All in all, Seeing where our environment is headed, Saie has taken action to create well-made products that don’t harm our world. Whether it be the Sun Melt bronzer or the Hydrabeam concealer, I have loved every product I’ve tried. If you’re looking for a product that best represents Saie, I would point you toward the Glowy Super Gel, you really can’t go wrong with it. Overall, I can’t say enough good things about Saie, their mission, ingredients, and overall environment justice-seeking mentality. Makeup that feels good, looks good, and is good for the environment!!!!
