Winter is a time of reconnecting with family, cozy holidays by the fire, ski slopes, and snowball fights. From home-cooked meals to ice skating, and movie nights to snow days, winter brings an abundance of joy. As we dive into this winter season, our students have some favorite winter activities. Here is a look at some popular winter activities that keep Marymount students busy from December to March.
Many students agree that skiing and snowboarding are some of the best activities to fill up the winter breaks. With all the excitement and adventure that comes from the winter sport, it can be a very memorable winter experience. Frances Lawton ’26 says “My favorite winter activity is skiing. I love going to Utah and skiing with my family and friends. It’s a great way to get outdoors, and it helps me appreciate nature even when it is so cold!”
What is winter without a snowball fight? Many students enjoy snowball fights and
building snowmen with their friends and family. Though it can be competitive, it is a great way to spend time with loved ones and will bring lots of laughter.
Not all winter activities have to be outside, sometimes, it’s best to relax and take advantage of the cold conditions. Students enjoy indoor activities after a long day of sledding, skiing, or building snowmen. Avery Reyes ’26 says, “One of my favorite winter activities is getting cozy and watching Christmas movies with my family. I also really enjoy making hot chocolate and cookies!”
As the weather gets colder and the trees lose their leaves, there are countless ways to embrace the winter season. At Marymount, students find joy in a variety of activities, from skiing the slopes to sipping hot cocoa. It’s a time full of opportunities to create lasting memories!
