Before the homework piles up, take a little time to get your life in order. Write down important dates in your planner or phone calendar, color-code your folders, and keep your workspace clean. You’ll feel way less stressed once things get busy. - Set Goals That Actually Mean Something
Instead of vague resolutions like “do better in school,” try setting goals that inspire you, like “raise my math grade by one letter,” or “try out for the school basketball team.” Keep your goals somewhere you’ll see them often as a reminder of what you’re working toward. - Build Good Routines Early
The first few weeks of school are the perfect time
Some healthy and cute breakfast recipes you can make to keep you energized all day at school! Photo Courtesy of Mom’s Kitchen Handbook to build healthy habits. Get enough sleep, eat a decent breakfast, and carve out a little study time each day. It’s way easier to stick to a routine when you start strong from day one.
- Get Involved and Find Your People
Join that club you’ve been curious about, go to the football game, or volunteer for a service project. Being part of something makes school so much more fun, and you’ll meet people who make the year even better. - Speak Up When You Need Help
No one expects you to have it all figured out. If you’re stuck, stressed, or confused, talk to a teacher, counselor, or friend. Chances are, someone else has been through the same thing and can help you find your footing. You can always go to the Math Center or Writing Lab if you ever need help in either of those subjects! Even just talking to your teachers can always help. Ms. S, the school counselor, is also always available to help you! Just make sure to schedule a meeting, and any of these resources are there to support you!

You’re going to have great days and not-so-great days. That’s normal! What matters most is how you bounce back. Focus on what you can control, learn from your mistakes, and keep moving forward.
The 2025-26 school year is a fresh start and a chance to grow, try new things, and discover more about yourself. So take a deep breath, smile, and step into this year with confidence. You’ve got this.
