In the year 2026, Matcha is getting so popular that you get to see people walking on the streets of Los Angeles holding a cup of Matcha every day. Not only is Matcha becoming the new hottest trend in our city, but it is becoming trendy all across the United States as well as other parts of the world. If you’ve been wanting to try some new spots that sell delicious matcha, this article is perfect for you! I’ve been visiting many matcha stores lately, and here are some of the best matcha places in LA that I highly recommend.
1. La La Land (San Vincente Blvd, The Grove, Beverly Hills)
Everyone is probably already familiar with La La Land. While many people recognize the name from the movie La La Land—which features iconic scenes around Los Angeles such as the Griffith Observatory—La La Land is also a popular café chain known for its delicious drinks and pastries. La La Land’s Brentwood Location is filled with people every Saturday due to their matcha selections. Their most famous Matcha are the Matcha Squared Latte, Banana Cloud Latte with Ceremonial Matcha, and Vanilla Einspanner Latte with Ceremonial Matcha. There are several locations all around LA, and I would highly recommend for you to give their matcha a try! Also, it is worth noting that their store in Beverly Hills has different menus since it is a reserve, meaning that it has a more elevated coffee concept.

2. Bonsai Coffee & Bar (West LA)
Compared to La La Land, Bonsai is less well known and only has one location. Nevertheless, its Matcha is absolutely top-tier! Bonsai Coffee Bar is a spacious Asian-inspired cafe in Sawtelle, West LA, serving espresso, matcha, and fresh pastries daily. Their signature Matcha is the Cream Top Matcha Latte with sweet sea salt cream on top, and the MATCHA * MATCHA with matcha cream on top. I had the best matcha I’ve ever had at Bonsai — their matcha seriously exceeds my expectations completely. If you haven’t had a chance to try, you should definitely stop by!

3. Community Goods (Melrose Ave)
Community Goods is probably the first that comes to mind for many of our Sailors and Los Angeles locals when the word “Matcha” is being brought up. Indeed, Community Goods is one of the most popular, if not, the most popular spot to get a Matcha all over LA. Their classic Matcha Latte and Matcha Einspanner are what everyone is currently craving for. As a Community Goods regular, I can confirm that their Matcha really lives up to the hype! The only thing that might be annoying for some is that the line is always very long, but the aesthetic and taste of it all is worth the wait!

Here are just three of the many other Matcha stores in Los Angeles that serve delicious Matcha and are waiting for you to visit. While matcha might seem like the trendiest thing on social media right now, it is important to stay mindful that it is not a trend but a culture and tradition for many people. Matcha originated from Tang Dynasty China as steam powdered tea, and later the seeds were brought to Japan where it became central to Zen meditation. Therefore, when you are enjoying your matcha next time, make sure to acknowledge its rich history too!
