5 Healthy Fall Snacks to Bring to School!
-
- Carrot sticks: Carrots are a very easy snack to bring to school. They are packed with important vitamins and minerals that we need.
- Pita Chips and Hummus: Pita chips and hummus is another easy snack combination. You can dip your pita chips, a healthier alternative to potato chips, into the hummus. Hummus is derived from chickpeas, which contain many healthy fibers and antioxidants.
- Celery with Peanut Butter and Raisins: This yummy snack is sometimes known as “ants on a log”! You can cut a piece of celery into 3 or 4 smaller pieces, smear peanut butter on the celery, and place the raisins on top of the peanut butter. This snack provides a good balance of carbs, proteins, and fat.
- Trail Mix: You can either buy trail mix from the store, or make it at home yourself! Trail mix typically consists of nuts (almonds, cashews, peanuts, etc.), raisins, chocolate chips, m&ms, dried fruits and whatever else you like!
- Banana Oat Muffins: These cookies are very delicious and taste like a sugar-filled cookie. However, they are much healthier because they are derived from mashed bananas instead of processed sugar. I have attached a recipe for these banana oat muffins here.
