The Best and Worst Starbucks Holiday Items, Ranked

Every November, Starbucks releases its infamous holiday menu with flavors ranging from cooling peppermint to cozy cocoa. This year is no different, as the highly anticipated Starbucks holiday menu has finally been released! I tried almost everything on the menu so that you don’t have to. Here are my rankings in the order of the best Starbucks holiday items to the worst.

1. Gingerbread Oat Chai

Usually, I am not a fan of gingerbread-flavored beverages but this  Starbucks Gingerbread Oat Chai is an absolute game changer. This latte tastes creamy and the gingerbread flavor is not too overpowering, and now, I can finally say I am a proud Chai lover.

 2. White Chocolate Mocha

After sampling this beverage in its iced and hot variations, I recommend that readers only buy the iced version. The hot white chocolate mocha lacks flavor and tastes like a sweet cappuccino however the iced version tastes like a cup of holiday joy. But still, be aware that this beverage tastes very sweet.

3. Chestnut Praline Latte

If you are looking for a latte that has a true chestnut flavor this may not be for you. But, if you enjoy notes of cinnamon and clove this latte is phenomenal (I am not a cinnamon fan therefore this ranks as number 3 on the list). The small hazel-colored toppings are crunchy and sweet which balance perfectly with the espresso in the latte.

4. Snowman Cookie

The snowman cookie has a beautiful design that resembles a hand-frosted cookie that you would purchase at your local bakery. The top of the cookie is coated in a thick layer of frosting, which is solid on top and creamy in the middle. The cookie base is soft but falls apart instantly when you bite into it, causing quite a mess and leaving you with only a fraction of the cookie left.

5. Creme Brulle Latte

The creme brulee latte tasted more like caramel-flavored milk to me. The latte contains a lot of sugar which overpowers the espresso flavor and left me with enough of a sugar rush to run a marathon. The toppings on this latte simply taste like crystalized sugar and cannot even compare to the toppings on the Chestnut Praline latte.

6. Sugarcookie Almond Milk Latte

I had high hopes for the Sugarcookie Almond Milk Latte because I typically like Almond milk-based beverages. However, this latte tasted more like almond milk than it did espresso or sugar cookie. Furthermore, the sprinkles on top were so small to the point where they created a weird texture.
