A workspace that improves productivity is vital to focusing and enhancing your study habits. With a few simple tricks, you can turn your desk into the perfect study area to help you concentrate and complete more work.

Tip 1: Stay organized

You can have a super cute study space, but it must be organized and clean. Before you do anything to your desk, clean it to remove all trash and declutter the space. An organized study space will reduce stress, and dealing with a messy space will lead to distractions. Desk organizers are a must to help keep your desk clean. You can also use objects around your house to help organize your desk, for example, a mason jar to hold your pencils and pens. Many people like using bulletin boards for reminders or having a calendar on their wall. It is also helpful for all of your material to be at your desk before you start studying. It is also essential to clean your desk weekly and prevent a big mess by having a trash can nearby.

Tip 2: Keeping it comfortable

You will spend a lot of time at your desk, so it needs to be comfortable. The key is to find a good balance between the space being too comfortable where you find it hard to get work done (Like your bed) and uncomfortable, so you don’t want to spend time there. The main tip is to have your chair where you feel comfortable but can also be productive. Also, have good lighting that keeps you alert and ready to learn.

Tip 3: Reduce distractions

The more distractions around you, the harder it will be to focus, so your study space needs minimal distractions. If you work best with music, it is crucial to set and make your playlist beforehand so you are not constantly changing the song and playlist. If you need silence, wearing headphones with white noise is excellent for minimizing outside noises. Another tip is to put your phone in another room. If that is unrealistic, start with your phone on Do Not Disturb so you won’t get distracted by notifications. Also, before you start studying, moving all the non-school items off your desk will help so you aren’t distracted by them.
