Do you ever want some extra money to buy some more clothes or a nice necklace? This summer is the perfect time to get a summer job and earn your own money! Some perfect beginner summer jobs are…
- Being a babysitter!

This one might seem obvious, but it is an easy way to earn extra money while also not having to do an interview or go through any application processes. All you have to do is find some people in your neighborhood with young kids and reach out to them through family friends or flyers.
- Working at a local shop!
Many stores need extra workers during the summer as they are busier with families during the day. This means it is a perfect time to apply to work in a local retail or ice cream store. This is a great option if you want a constant source of income this summer.
This requires more work to become certified, but once you have gotten your license, it is a great way to make a lot of money. As a lifeguard, you can work at a local pool or at little kids’ pool parties. Because this job requires training, you often get paid very well for it. So this is a great option if you love the pool and want to make more money than just babysitting.
- Being a camp counselor!
I was a camp counselor last summer, and it was so fun! This is a great job if you love babysitting, but want to earn a bit more money. Normally, I would work from 9 to 3 on minimum wage. It was such a fun and easy way to make money and have a great time!
Many parents want their kids to do some school work over the summer so they don’t forget everything they learnt that year. Tutoring or helping with summer assignments is a great way to earn money and can also lead to babysitting jobs. Tutoring also looks great on college applications and normally only takes up two or three hours, which makes it another great summer job!
