Review of Seasonal Laneige Lip Masks: Are They Better Than The Originals?

Sara Yermian, Staff writer

Happy October Sailors! If any of you are interested in skincare or use lip balms, you may have heard about the new seasonal Laneige Lip Masks. We all know and love these lip masks (or maybe you just heard your friends preaching over them), but are the seasonal masks deserving of the same hype? And are they worth the $24 price point?

Pumpkin Spice: This lip mask smells exactly like Halloween: Pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice drinks, and cinnamon. Upon just opening the jar, it instantly transports you to spooky season, no matter what time of year. Usually, I am not one to like any cinnamon spice scent, especially in perfumes since they tend to be overbearing, but this mask is the opposite of that and still is as effective as the Laneige Original Lip Mask. This mask does not feel sticky on the lips and is smooth as soon as you apply it. This mask is a 10/10, definitely worth the buy!

Peppermint: This lip mask has a smooth, shiny (but not sticky) finish on the lips, which makes it live up to the effectiveness of the Original Laniege Lip Mask. If you are a fan of peppermint this mask is definitely for you, however, it does not stand out to me. The smell is very similar to other minty balms and masks and has a toothpaste burn on the lips, which personally is not for me. Also, this lip mask is extremely similar to Lanegie’s Original Mint Choco Mask. I rate this a 7/10, but definitely still check it out!
