Every year, on the fourth Thursday of November, families gather around to commence the annual holiday of Thanksgiving! U.S. citizens celebrate Thanksgiving for the one day that the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag people had feasted together after the arrival of the Mayflower. Thanksgiving is still celebrated today, with foods like cranberry sauce, corn, and turkey. As Thanksgiving grew, more and more foods were brought to the tables of many Americans, like macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and even pumpkin pie! With such a variety of foods, there must be one that is the best out of all. So I decided to gather the thoughts of people on the internet who do celebrate Thanksgiving and grasp their thoughts on the best Thanksgiving food.

According to njfood.com the top five most liked foods during the Thanksgiving holiday begin with number five, sweet potato casserole. A casserole containing mashed sweet potatoes inside topped with mini marshmallows to add that extra sweetness to the sweet potato. The fourth food ranked was mashed potatoes. Ranked number three is pumpkin pie! Pumpkin pie is a great way to end pumpkin spice season. Lyla Johnson ‘26 stated that she believes pumpkin pie is the best Thanksgiving food “because of its flavor of cinnamon and the coziness that it provides during the fall.” Talking about pumpkin pie, at number two we have fruit pies! Aside from a hearty and rich pumpkin pie, fruit pie tops the seasonal pumpkin pie. Kiara Parkton ‘25 stated that fruit pies are better because “they are bursting with flavor from the cooked fruit inside the pie and overall, just taste better.” And finally, at number one, we have the iconic stuffing! The stuffing consists of crumbled-up bread moistened with butter and a bunch of herbs. Dawni Daniels ‘26 adores stuffing and has stated, “it’s yummy in my tummy, even the one my grandma makes,” but others don’t believe the same thing. Kate Simmons ‘26 stated, “it’s overhyped and mid.” With Thanksgiving being over, now you can know about the most popular thanksgiving food.
