Just around the bend, we are prepping to drink warm coffee, making the change from summer to fall. While we change seasons, let’s think of how we can reset and reflect on ourselves. As trees shed their leaves, we can shed some of our own bits that we no longer need. Let’s go over some things to release this fall season.
Let go of Unnecessary Stress

Our AP classes, social life, sports, and extracurriculars keep us busy and overwhelmed. Stress can unnecessarily weigh on you and hold you back from the amazing things you can accomplish. This fall, try to let go of the things that you don’t have to do but think you have to do. Ask for help, take breaks when you need them, and remind yourself that not everything is going to be perfect.
Let go of Comparison
Grades, friends, extracurricular activities, and social media can be thieves of joy when you’re comparing yourself to others. Each person has their own path to take, and because yours looks a bit different doesn’t mean it is any less valuable. Focus on your own growth, not someone else’s.

Let go of Toxic Friendships
If you have a person making you feel drained, left out, or not present, take a step back and release this friendship. Your energy is precious, and wasting it and people who aren’t going to uplift and support you is not going to bring you progress.
Let go of Perfection
Setting high goals is great, but trying to achieve perfection is exhausting. Mistakes are a part of growing and learning is done best when you can grow from your mistakes. Allow yourself to be human and let go of a flawless mindset.
As we shift seasons, let yourself shift too. Make space for new habits, better connections, and self-love. Find a fresh start as you let the unnecessary things shed off of you like leaves.
