As we all know, high school can cause quite a strain on our bodies: staying up late to study for tests or to complete homework assignments, not being able to sleep due to anxiety or excitement. Trust us, we know this very well, and we’re only freshmen! Thankfully, we can rely on the magic of CAFFEINE. We have spent the last month asking sailors about their favorite coffee shops to create the perfect list of coffee shops in LA that you need to try!
Alfred was the most popular choice for many sailors by a landslide. Alfred is a very popular coffee shop that has locations all over LA! Not only do they have incredible coffee with their world famous iced vanilla latte and, a crowd favorite, the espresso cloud cream, they also have delicious matcha lattes (our personal favorite). In addition to all this, they have incredible breakfast treats and you’re able to purchase coffee blends, matcha powder, and their world famous syrups!
Another very popular choice by many sailors is La La Land. An LA favorite, La La Land may just be our favorite coffee shop! Their famous La La Lattes and Strawberry Cloud lattes are very popular choices for either coffee or matcha, but the options don’t just end there. The menu has extreme variety, and there is always an incredibly long line out the door. To top it all off, La La Land has the best toast for breakfast, like their avocado toast and their hazelnut toast, and they have the cutest merch you can buy!
Another crowd favorite has to be Community Goods. This small but famous coffee shop on Melrose Avenue is an Iconic LA location that has done collabs with celebrities, like Love Island’s Iris Kendall, and there is always a line down the street. Of course the coffees at Community Goods are incredible, but they are famous for their matcha! The matcha at Community Goods is made with ceremonial grade matcha powder all the way from Japan! If you love matcha, this is the place for you! In addition, the food is absolutely incredible, like their breakfast sliders which are delicious.
One final popular cafe that was suggested by many sailors is Croft Alley. This super cute breakfast spot in Beverly hills has delicious breakfast food and beautifully made drinks. The coffees here are extremely underrated and we find them delicious and their matchas are soooooo good. The breakfast here is one of our favorites! They have a wide selection of food, from sandwiches to lettuce wraps, and they have such good spicy tuna crispy rice. This is definitely more of a sit down restaurant, but it’s still great to get coffee from!

Some other favorite coffee shops of Marymount students include Joe and the Juice, Cha Cha Matcha, Blue Stone Lane, Great White, Rōk, Pure Bean, Starbucks, Cafe Luxxe, Urth Cafe, and Republique. There are so many cute and local coffee shops all around LA and our list is just a few of them!
