Marymount offers all students the opportunity to have an internship experience over the summer called SAILL. SAILL stands for Student’s Advancing in Internship, Leading, and Learning. The program allows rising sophomores and above to get an opportunity in their chosen field. After a student completes an application and gets accepted, they will shadow their designated mentor at the internship site and learn many different things.
I had the lucky opportunity to shadow Dr. Magovern at Manhattan Dermatology. At first, having an internship after being a freshman was a little intimidating, but I am grateful I had the opportunity. I went to the office once a week for five weeks total and helped her with patients. At Manhattan Dermatology, you will be welcomed by a kind and empowering community that makes your skin their priority.
SAILL is a wonderful program offered by Marymount and if you are interested in applying I would highly recommend it. Even if it intimidates you, it is so worth it to step out of your comfort zone!
