Favorite Electives at Marymount

While students at Marymount are eager for Winter Break to arrive, we reflect on arguably the most enjoyable classes in our daily schedules: electives. Out of so many to choose from, ranging from more active electives such as Dance, PE, and Self-Defense, to more performative electives such as singing and acting, what are the student body’s favorites? I spoke to many students, and here’s what they said: A few freshmen said that they found Studio Arts to be their favorite because they found it peaceful and relaxing, and they described it as “a nice break from stressful academics.” Several sophomores agreed that Acting was their favorite because they got to play fun games and explore different components of acting through monologues and activities. As a sophomore who has also taken Ms. Wexler’s classes, she makes her class as fun and engaging as possible! Furthermore, Dance was also a popular favorite, as students who took the course said they had fun participating in the fall and spring concerts. It is safe to say that the performing arts electives are certainly popular at Marymount.
