Cabaret Night Review

Cabaret+Night+Review

Many of you may know of Marymount’s Annual Cabaret Night. If you were unable to come to witness the great performances this year, here is a review. For context, Cabaret Night is an opportunity for Marymount students to demonstrate their artistic ability in the performing arts through self-taught or choreographed numbers. Students audition their numbers and are given feedback and assistance from the Marymount Performing Arts department. Then students perform their pieces for their fellow students, faculty, friends, and family.

Many hours of preparation go into this event. Students spent a lot of time preparing and rehearsing. They also had to attend two dress rehearsals. The atmosphere in the dress rehearsals is welcoming and inviting. All cabaret participants cheer for each other and encourage each other’s growth making cabaret a safe space for all artists. During the performance this year we witnessed many outstanding performances. Dance numbers ranging from musical theater to ballet graced the Cantwell stage. Many singing acts and a violin solo from Lucia Sun also treated our excited audience. Participation ranged from all the grade levels and our audience was filled with many Marymount students coming to support their friends.

Overall the night was fun and exciting. Marymount performing artists got to showcase their talent and supportive family and friends were graced with a great show. I would recommend everyone come watch next year’s performance and support our fantastic dancers, singers, and orchestra members.
