Teacher Poll: What Are Your Plans for the Summer?

As the school year comes to a close and we all start getting excited for three months of rest, sunshine, and fun, we tend to forget about our school lives for a moment. Contrary to popular belief, teachers are not still at school when we’re gone, but also soaking up the summer! Let’s take a look at what some of our favorite faculty members are up to this summer break.

Ms. Robinson

This summer, Ms. Robinson has booked herself busy! To start the summer, Ms. Robinson will be teaching a summer P.E. class! She says she feels excited to “be on our beautiful campus, making sure everyone is having so much fun.” Although she’ll be spending time with her students, she will also be celebrating something very big- her nineteenth wedding anniversary! For this very special occasion, Ms. Robinson will be heading to Big Sur to hike with her husband and get away for a while. If you see her on campus, make sure to say congratulations! Finally, to close out a summer of fun, Ms. Robinson will be carrying on her long standing tradition of hosting Camp Funtie and Funcle! On this fun week-long excursion, Ms. Robinson and her husband spend time with their 5 nieces and nephews doing several fun things. This summer, they will head to Santa Barbara and stay in a hotel right on the coastline!

Mr. Watson

Like Ms. Robinson, Mr. Watson will be kicking off his summer break by possibly teaching a summer Spanish class! Once his time on campus for the summer comes to a close, he will be heading to Big Sur with his wife to go hiking and enjoy the nice weather. To close out this fun summer vacation, Mr. Watson plans to see some fun local LA music with his wife. One concert he looks forward to is the “Just Like Heaven” concert at the Rose bowl where he’ll listen  to “the early 200’s bands [he] used to listen to,” he said.

Ms. Rielly

Ms. Rielly heads overseas this summer break to have fun in Europe! To start off her trip, Ms. Rielly plans to spend a week in England with her husband. She’ll start in Manchester where she will go golfing before heading to London for some sight-seeing and fun! After that, Ms. Rielly will head to Spain solo. Her trip will begin in San Sebastian before she goes to Madrid for a few days to see the city as well as her two kids who live and work there! In total, she will spend a week in Spain to close out this amazing two-week trip!

Mr. Pham

This summer, Mr. Pham will be traveling around Europe on a fun cruise! His trip will last a week, taking him to Spain, Casablanca, and Africa. After his endeavors in Europe, Mr. Pham plans to “most likely be in LA,” although this is subject to change! In LA, he plans to go hiking and explore new museums, which he shares is “what [he] usually [does] in [his] free time.”

Sister Margaret

This summer, Sister Margaret feels excited to catch up with her family. She will first go to North Carolina

to see her brother, grandkids, and great-grandchildren. Afterwards, she will travel to Forts Colony, Virginia to see her sister and her other grandchildren! When asked about how many grandchildren and great grandchildren she has, Sister Margaret said “tons of ‘em!” so it sounds like it will be a great trip through the south! For the rest of the vacation, Sister Margaret plans to spend her time in Los Angeles resting and relaxing.

Over the break, whether you’re spending time locally like Mr. Watson or traveling vastly like Ms. Reilly, be sure to keep an eye out for your teachers while you enjoy some well-earned time off from school!
