Where Are Marymount Students Going This Summer?
Summer begins in just under two weeks, and many Sailors have some fun summer plans lined up! Whether it is traveling far or staying close, let’s take a look at what Marymount students will be getting up to during the upcoming summer break. These statistics are based on a Google Form, sent out by me, with 20 responses. I asked students to check the boxes of everything they were doing this summer, so they could pick more than one thing in a category. The percentages displayed are out of the total of 20 respondents.

Many students are having fun at home in LA! 50% of respondents are partaking in a SAILL internship. This program, run by Mr. Petrone, offers Sailors internships in a variety of fields ranging from law to marketing to medicine. Additionally, 20% have an internship outside of SAILL, and 45% will be working a summer job. And, 40% are just chilling!
Programs, including college programs, abroad programs, and sleep away camps, are popular this summer. 30% are participating in a pre-college program at a university in the United States. Either as a camper or a counselor, 20% are going to a sleep away camp this summer.
However, most Marymount students are traveling this summer, both in the US and abroad. 65% are traveling within the US, with 25% going to the East Coast, 45% going elsewhere in California, and others going to the South and Midwest. And, it’s a Euro summer! 65% of respondents are traveling somewhere in Europe, with the most popular destinations being England, France and Spain, followed by Greece, Croatia, and Ireland. Some students are also traveling to Latin America, and one respondent is going to Bhutan!
Marymount students are going global this summer! Have a fun, adventurous, and safe summer, Sailors!
