On Saturday, September 27, 2025, Marymount’s Model United Nations team attended the Santa Margarita MUN Conference, an event that served as an exciting introduction to the world of diplomacy for many of our new delegates. For several freshmen, this was their very first conference and a chance to step into committee rooms, take on global issues, and experience firsthand what it means to be a delegate.
The Santa Margarita conference is known for being beginner-friendly, providing an encouraging environment for new participants to build confidence in public speaking, resolution writing, and collaboration. Despite the learning curve, Marymount students from all grade levels rose to the occasion, demonstrating preparation, leadership, and teamwork throughout the day.

By the end of the conference, many Marymount delegates received several awards recognizing their hard work and impressive performance, a testament to the dedication and spirit of our team. Many students got awarded Outstanding Delegate, which is the second-highest award you can get! Beyond the accolades, the event also strengthened friendships and fostered a deeper understanding of international affairs, setting the tone for a strong MUN season ahead.
Perhaps most importantly, the conference reminded everyone why MUN is such a special part of the Marymount experience. Watching new members find their voices, upperclassmen step into mentorship roles, and the whole team come together in support of one another captured the heart of what MUN is truly about: community, confidence, and curiosity about the world. With such a strong start to the year, Marymount’s delegates are eager to keep the momentum going at future conferences.
Marymount is proud of all the delegates who represented our school with grace, diplomacy, and enthusiasm. We can’t wait to see what the team accomplishes next!
