Prom was a night filled with fun, dancing, and memories we will never forget! The night started at seven o’clock and Junior and Seniors began to trickle in admiring one another’s dresses. People arrived by party buses to the Marina Del Ray Marriott and made their way up to the top floor where a large ballroom with a patio with beautiful view. The venue had gorgeous decorations, set up by teachers and the prom committee, which matched this year’s theme: The Roaring 20s!

As people walked further into the venue, friends would find each other and greet one another with hugs and compliments. Everyone had the most gorgeous dresses, and dates often wore a matching tie. People sat outside near heaters as it was quite cold, but people’s laughter warmed the night.
There were ample amounts of snacks and food as there was a donut station, a candy station, and multiple drink stations with lemonade, Pepsi, water, and sparkling water. Dinner started at eight and there was a buffet food bar with multiple types of food to suit everyone’s wants. There were sliders and tater tots, a taco station, and a pasta bar with a real cheese wheel. There was also a photo booth with many props and a Great Gatsby background which captured the 20s theme and people’s memories of Prom with friends.

While the dance floor might have have been quiet the first half of the night, after dinner it was never empty. The music was great as there were both classics like “Dancing Queen” by ABBA and newer songs as well! There were pyrotechnics which would shoot into the air every once in a while which was super cool. Diamond of the Night was then announced by Ms. Regan as Dawni Daniels! Finally the night ended at ten o’clock and though it was so fun, everyone was tired and ready to leave after three hours of partying and dancing. Again, party buses and cars took people back home, and I know that people were already reminiscing about the night we had all just had.

I know that as a Junior, I am super excited to go to Prom next year and I am excited to see rising Juniors there too! I can’t wait to see what the next theme will be and to see if next year can top the magical night that I had.
