Delicious Baked Apple Chips

Baked+Apple+Chips
Baked Apple Chips

Looking for a sweet treat with a healthy twist? These easy-to-make baked apple chips can guiltlessly satisfy your sweet tooth while providing a wholesome serving of fruit.

Prep Time: 15 min.

Cook Time: 45 min.

Total Time: 60 min.

Ingredients:

  • Apples (any amount) (each apple makes about 35-40 chips depending on how thick it is sliced)
  • 1 large lemon
  • Cinnamon
  • Sugar (optional)

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 200°F
  • Squeeze juice out of one large lemon and set the juice aside.
  • Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  • Core the apple, and slice the apples very thin. I recommend using a mandoline slicer or vegetable peeler.
  • Put thin apple slices in a large bowl. Pour lemon juice over the slices and mix carefully with clean hands to avoid tearing the slices. This prevents the apples from naturally browning.
  • Remove slices from bowl and place on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure they do not overlap.
  • Sprinkle a generous amount of cinnamon on the apple slices. Also apply sugar, if wanted.
  • Put in the oven, and bake approximately 45 minutes, or until the edges start to brown.
  • Remove chips from oven and allow them to cool. When they are first removed from the oven they will be soft, but as they cool they will harden into chips.
  • Once cooled, store in an airtight container to avoid losing their crispness.
