Alumna

During this summer, one of our Marymount Alumnae, Jacqui Rimano, traveled all the way to Brazil to watch her husband play on the US national team in the 2014 Men’s World Cup.

Jacqui Rimano, maiden name Jacqui Little, attended Marymount High School. She played volleyball and was on Varsity soccer all four years while she was in High School. She later went on to play at the college and pro level of soccer. She has a twin sister, Skylar, who also attended Marymount and competitively played soccer. Jacqui is proud to be a Marymount alumna and explains how “attending an all girls school was a way for us to feel confident, be who we were, and not have the social pressure of boys being around”.

Jacqui’s husband, Nick Rimano, was chosen to be on the US National team as a goalie, specializing in penalty kicks. He went through years of National camps and games to get to the point of representing the United States in the FIFA World Cup. Commenting on the atmosphere of Brazil, Jacqui said, “It was a beautiful country, wonderful people, but hard to not notice the terrible living conditions for a lot of the country.” The players and their families traveled with the US family programs, which consisted of secured transportation and housing that allowed everyone to experience Brazil safely.

Jacqui says that her three-week journey through Brazil was “truly an unforgettable experience filled with memories that will last a lifetime.” Don’t forget to cheer on Jacqui’s husband, Nick Rimano, if you are ever watching a MLS REAL Salt lake game!
