As the season begins to roll in, and crisp nights call for the fireplaces to roar, I often think of the wondrous feeling society gets from movies. Film, television, commercials, and sports games surround the holiday season with entertainment and joy, as families can gather tightly around the TV to enjoy an episode of “Jeopardy” or a Hallmark special.

Last night whilst scrolling through my Netflix recommendations, I stopped on a category that was titled, “Holiday Classics.” Realizing I hadn’t watched a single holiday movie yet this season, I happily perused the options that filled my screen. One after the other I was in awe of the storylines that so effortlessly incorporated the holiday season. The movies of reunion, friends, family, love, and Christmas prompted me to think about my own love and passion for film. And further, my love for so many people that are in my life.

Most importantly, though, I began to think about my staff. This year, the Anchor staff has truly brought their A-game in such an unprecedented time. Each one of them is filled with joy, cheer, and some of the best journalistic writing skills I’ve seen on campus. So with that, I chose to incorporate my wonderful staff into this issue’s survey!

In the spirit of the Holidays and festivities, I asked my staff: “What is the most essential Holiday Movie?
